Collectively, over the last four generations, my family has peddled fruit in the Italian market, worked in shipyards, and laid brick for many of the area’s rowhomes. With the growth of the city and burgeoning of so many incredible educational institutions, we also grew with the city. Modern times, job opportunities, has separated my brother and sisters, but Philadelphia is our home. Every year we reunite. We still play the same board games, visit the same places, recall old stories, all while making a few more stories to carry out into the world and back home.
