The Liberty Bell is a symbol of American Freedom. A big reason why the bell became famous was because of a short story published in a magazine. The story was about an old man who sat sadly by the bell, afraid independence would never be declared. Suddenly a young boy tells the man to ring the bell because they signed the Declaration of Independence. The bell reminded people of liberty and independence. I have visited the Liberty Bell many times with my family, and it always makes me think about freedom.
