Originally from New England, Charity Thackston received her BFA from Keene State College in New Hampshire. She then went on to complete a post-bacc program at Louisiana State University, in Baton Rouge and most recently has completed her MFA at Tyler School of Art, in Philadelphia PA. She has had her work displayed in a number of galleries nationally, including the Baton Rouge Center for Contemporary Art and most recently at Front/Space in Kansas City, MO. Thackston is an artist-member of the Philadelphia-based gallery PRACTICE. Charity was born in New Jersey and she loves Bruce Springsteen (he’s like a Boss). She also has a penchant for sharing Dove chocolate (because it’s dark and sweet, just like her).
