Out of the blue on 12/16/07 I collapsed onto the floor and was unable to stand or speak. After thirty minutes passed I was able to stand. On 12/17/07 it happened again! I went to the emergency room and was admitted to the hospital. Over the next few days, several cardiologists told me that I had sudden aborted cardiac death, two times, and was lucky to be alive. I was transferred and admitted to University of Pennsylvania and discovered I had a very rare cardiac defect that would cause my life to end quickly. I was forty-one. I was told I had two years to live. I sunk into depression and confusion. How could this be??? I was healthy and active. How could I be this sick and not know it. I had a pacemaker/defibrillator implanted and the procedure nearly killed me as the pacemaker wires punctured my heart and I was bleeding internally while taking a blood thinner. By the grace of God, something inside me knew I was in danger and I rushed back to the hospital and barely made it back in time. I was almost dying AGAIN. I arrived at U of P and they rushed me into surgery that had to be done without anesthesia due to the delicate condition of my heart. Remarkably, I survived even this…. I found this green glass cube you are looking at shortly after arriving home to recover. It is 2016 and I am still alive. Never allow anyone to give you your expiration date. Trust God instead!
