How do I connect to this city? Because I am in Philly and Philly is in me. It’s not only the people of Philadelphia, nor the spectacular architecture, nor the arts, food or diversity… The real clincher is how my son David, who was born in Houston, TX and raised in Puerto Rico, fell in love with, and claimed he belonged in Philadelphia, just like me. Yes, I, too, having lived in several states, finally, here, felt instantly at home. Here my son died, at the age of 24, and my heart rejoices knowing he had finally set roots and lived at peace, proud to call Philadelphia home. I now see happy memories of David everywhere… 3” x 3”.
