I’m a local Philadelphia Glassblower who is getting support through the city. I first started blowing glass with private lessons in the Chestnut Hill section of the city and fell in love with the material. Then I attended Temple University to study glass more at Tyler School of Art, and I graduated in 2005. Since college, my work has been shown in the Philadelphia International Airport, the National Liberty Museum, the historic Fairmount Park houses, and many other places. I think that it’s amazing that such a large city can find someone like me and support my work. I would think with the city being so populated, it would be impossible to stand out and become known as an artist of Philadelphia, but I’m finding out that it isn’t impossible. It is possible.
