This is a self-portrait that showcases a part of myself. My family is from West Africa. I embrace my ethnicity and skin color. The black surrounding the continent of Africa represents black power. The continent of Africa is my past, present, and future. It is my past because my parents were born and raised there. It is my present because I was born in Philly. It is my future because I cannot change it so I am going to embrace it all the way to the end. I also want to visit it again. I am proud of my African heritage and see it as a symbol of strength.
