I am a Philadelphia lawyer, having worked for the City of Philadelphia’s Law Department for more than three decades. I am also a quilt artist, designing and sewing quilts that express my political, religious and social views. I made my first art quilt in 2008 to celebrate the presidency of Barack Obama; I actually made two quilts. One was a quilted version of artist Ray Noland’s iconic Obama poster. My quilt was featured in a book entitled, Journey of Hope (author, Dr. Carolyn Mazloomi) and travelled the country in exhibition for a number of years. At one point, Philadelphia was the fabric manufacturing capital of the colonies, so, as a native Philadelphian, it’s only fitting that I continue to make quilts here!
