Newly relocated to Philadelphia from Toronto Canada, I’m just beginning to build my life here as a resident artist at The Clay Studio.  Every day the story starts with my walk from the 2nd St train station to the studio.  I really look forward to this familiarity and the sights and sounds of Old City.  I’m so fond of all the scatterings of ginkgo leaves on the sidewalks; what I see in them is dreamlike, energizing, and makes me feel at home.  I’ve attempted to capture this sentiment in the form of a ceramic tile, an inspirational fossil of sorts.  This is the first object made in my space at The Clay Studio and represents appreciation for new beginnings and the warm welcome from the arts community in Philadelphia.
