A piece of the city. In 1972 I moved to Philadelphia to teach at Tyler School of Art. In the forty-plus-years that I have lived in Philly I have scavenged incredible “stuff” on the streets of this amazing city. I have no idea what this sculptural piece of detritus was originally meant to do but it is beautiful and evocative. I did not change it in any way except to wash it and look at it for many years.
